- Comply with applicable environmental legislation
- Prevent pollution and minimise the extent of the environmental damage occuring as a result of its activities
- Continuously improve its environmental performance by adhering to the following commitments:
- To assign environmental responsibility throughout the Company
- To implement and operate a formal Environmental Management system
- To set and monitor environmental objectives and targets in order to reduce environmental impacts, including specifically to:
- Minimise waste
- Make efficient use of energy
- Reduce emissions to atmosphere and water
- Minimise water consumption
- To integrate environmental considerations into business decision making at all levels via the Environmental Management System
- To consult with stakeholders on environmental issues
- Make this policy publicly available
- Include environmental issues in internal newsletters
- Communicate openly with external parties on issues of concern
- Report progress against objectives and targets in an environmental report for the year ending 2002
- To develop procurement policies to encourage suppliers to address their environmental issues
- To address environmental issues relating to products that we distribute
- To provide training to employees in environmental matters
- To formally review this Environmental Policy at regular intervals
