| Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) |
 |
A KPI is a tool to measure the performance of an organization or project based on pre-agreed targets such as: client satisfaction, defects, safety, cost & delivery performance.
By using KPI’s, an organization can: set performance targets at the outset, monitor performance during the project lifetime, assess completed projects & benchmark performance to provide a basis for continuous improvement.
Whilst KPI’s will differ depending on the nature & objectives of the organization or project, common principles should be applied to ensure relevance.- Developed & agreed by all parties.
- Simple, clearly defined & easily measured.
- Used to set targets for improvement.
- Regularly reviewed to identify trends, strengths & weakness.
- Communicated effectively.
Travis Perkins can provide a number of KPI monitors relevant to a Builders' Merchant Operation. |

| Delivery Performance |
 |
Travis Perkins can produce, on a monthly basis, a report detailing the level of deliveries provided complete and on time.
Example: Delivery Performance Report |
 |
| Delivery Exception Report |
 |
Further to the Delivery Performance report, Travis Perkins is capable of producing an exception report, which identifies all late delivered transactions on a monthly basis.
This creates an opportunity for continuous improvement by providing information, which can be analysed to identify reasons for late delivered transactions.
Example: Delivery Exception Report
The delivery exception report is used to identify potential reasons for a late delivery such as:- Insufficient notification provided
- Insufficient stock held at branch
- Non-stocked item ordered
- Administration errors regarding date entry at point of sale
Remedial action can then be taken in order to provide an improved performance for subsequent months. |
